FP&A and Reporting Associate

OceanSound Partners is a private equity firm that partners with middle-market companies to support their growth, operational improvement, and long-term value creation.
Position Overview
We are seeking an FP&A Analyst and Senior Analyst to support the financial reporting and analytical needs of OceanSound Partners’ portfolio companies.
The Senior Analyst will be assigned to approximately 3 portfolio companies and will be responsible for preparing recurring financial reports, analyzing business performance, and ensuring that financial and operational information is accurate, consistent, and actionable.
This position requires strong financial and accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare the 3 financial statements from Trail balances and management reports for assigned portfolio companies.
• Develop and costs and margin analysis by business unit, line and product.
• Understand M&A process and adapt information to include add-ons from the portfolio companies.
• Understand Diligence process and EBITDA Adjustments.
• Identify and explain variances between actual results, budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
• Prepare reporting packages for portfolio company management teams and OceanSound Partners.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Perform Revenue Operations analyses, including revenue performance, pipeline, customer retention, and commercial efficiency.
• Build and maintain Customer Cube reporting, including customer-level revenue, segmentation, concentration, retention, and profitability analyses.
• Consolidate and reconcile information from financial, operational, and commercial data sources.
• Work closely with portfolio company finance teams to improve reporting quality, controls, processes, and data consistency.
• Automate and optimize reporting processes using data and analytics tools.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses and strategic projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Accounting background is strongly preferred.
• Master’s degree in Finance or completion of CFA Level I is preferred.
• Experience in FP&A, financial reporting, accounting, audit, transaction services, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, EBITDA, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to analyze large datasets and translate financial information into clear business insights.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage reporting responsibilities across multiple companies.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with finance and management teams.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience with the following tools is considered a plus but is not required:
• Alteryx
• Snowflake
• Business intelligence and data visualization tools
• Financial planning and reporting platforms
• SQL or other data analysis tools
