Descripción del puesto
Finance, Accounting & Operations Senior Associate / Manager (Buenos Aires)
About Us
RiverBay Capital is a New York City-headquartered, founder-led alternative asset management firm specializing in private credit investments across corporate lending, asset-based finance and opportunistic capital solutions. Our business is built on prioritizing investors through rigorous analysis, disciplined structuring and transparent reporting. We pride ourselves on being true to our word, hardworking, curious, open-minded, transparent, collaborative, disciplined, and action oriented.
Position Overview
We are hiring a hands-on finance and operations professional in Buenos Aires to support our CFO/COO in New York. Our CFO/COO is supported by an external team from an outsourced CFO (OCFO) firm that handles day-to-day accounting and processing; you will be the CFO/COO's in-house support, preparing analysis and reporting, and also working with the OCFO team on deliverables and taking on projects across finance and operations. This role joins at the founding stage of our operating platform, so the processes, trackers and controls you help put in place will become the firm's standard. You will gain deep exposure to US private-fund accounting, investor reporting, treasury, audit and valuation.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Finance & Reporting
- Support the CFO/COO on NAV, management fee, preferred return, carried interest and waterfall calculations, working with the OCFO team and checking the most critical figures.
- Help the CFO/COO tie out monthly and quarterly outputs, and follow open items through to resolution with the OCFO team.
- Support position and cash reconciliations and keep portfolio data clean and complete.
- Monitor borrower interest, PIK and fee receipts against credit agreements and agent notices.
- Prepare quarterly valuation committee materials and supporting files for the CFO/COO.
Management Company Finance & Treasury
- Support the CFO/COO on the budget, rolling forecast and monthly management reporting pack (AUM, fee-paying AUM, run-rate fees, margin and cash needs), working from the OCFO team's financials.
- Monitor vendor spend and check expense allocation across the funds, management company and affiliates.
- Help prepare capital-call, distribution and liquidity forecasts and flag funding needs early.
- Track subscription-facility and fund-level leverage usage and borrowing base.
- Check payment packages prepared by the OCFO team before approval by authorized signatories in the US.
Investor Reporting, Audit & Tax
- Help prepare capital account statements and quarterly LP reports, and maintain ILPA-style reporting templates.
- Maintain the side-letter and MFN obligations tracker, and build a reusable DDQ and data-request library for investor due diligence.
- Support auditor and tax-adviser requests with the OCFO team and keep the audit and K-1 calendar on track.
OCFO Coordination, Projects & Systems
- Serve as the in-house link between the CFO/COO and the OCFO team, tracking deliverables, deadlines and open items.
- Take on ad hoc analysis and projects for the CFO/COO, and help implement reporting tools.
- Automate recurring work using Excel, Power Query / Power BI and AI-enabled tools within Microsoft 365.
Qualifications
Required:
- Contador Público degree, or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a strong academic record; CPA or ACCA is a plus.
- 5 to 9 years of experience, including at least 3 years on either (a) closed-end private funds (private credit preferred, private equity acceptable) at an asset manager, (b) fund administrator, or (c) Big Four fund audit or advisory practice.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP investment-company and partnership accounting.
- Solid understanding of distribution waterfall mechanics (preferred return, GP catch-up and carried interest), with the ability to build or review one in Excel and explain how European, American waterfalls with soft and hard hurdles differ.
- Advanced Excel modeling: clean, auditable, linked free, cash-flow and capital-account models that others can follow and check.
- Full professional English written and spoken, for investor materials, auditor correspondence and US calls.
- Availability to work US Eastern business hours, including peak periods around quarter-end, capital calls and fund closings.
- Strong controls discipline, including a clear understanding of segregation of duties.
- Integrity and discretion in handling confidential investor, borrower and compensation information.
- Obsession with attention to detail and operational excellence.
Preferred / Plus
- Private-credit experience: interest and fee accruals, OID, PIK, delayed-draw facilities, amendments and borrower payment monitoring.
- Exposure to asset-based finance or evergreen / semi-liquid vehicles (subscriptions, redemptions, share classes).
- Experience working with a US fund administrator or an outsourced accounting / CFO provider.
- Experience supporting LP operational due diligence, DDQs, ILPA reporting or quarterly valuations of illiquid credit.
- Exposure to an SEC-registered investment adviser, including fee and expense-allocation testing.
- Big Four training in Buenos Aires (ideally on US fund clients) or experience at a fund administrator's Buenos Aires delivery center.
- Power Query, Power BI, SQL or Python skills for reporting automation; CFA Level I or higher.
What We Offer

- Direct mentorship from the CFO/COO and senior leadership of a growing US private credit manager.
- Exposure to the full private-fund finance cycle: capital calls, NAV, distributions, audit and investor reporting.

- The opportunity to shape the firm's finance controls and processes from the ground up as the platform scales.
- Clear path for career progression within the firm.
- Visits to the New York City headquarters for training and team events.

Our Expectations

- Detail-oriented – You tie every figure to a source and catch small errors before they reach an investor.
- Owner – You take work through to completion without being chased, even across a time-zone gap.
- Builder – You are comfortable creating templates and procedures where none exist.
- Clear communicator – You write concise, decision-ready summaries that a US reader can act on without a call.
- Calm under pressure – You handle quarter-end, capital calls and investor requests at the same time.
- Team player – You support the CFO/COO and investment team.
- High integrity – You escalate problems early and propose a solution.
